The brutal truths
The brutal truths are the ones we try to hide
The ones that make us wince and cringe inside
But they always seem to find a way to peek out
They're like unwanted relatives that we can't get rid of,
But they're also the ones who remind us of who we are.
We try to bury them under mountains of lies,
But they always seem to find a way to rise;
They're like ghosts that just won't stay buried,
But they're also the ones who keep us honest.
We try to keep them locked away in dark corners of our minds,
They're like shadows that follow us wherever we go.
The brutal truths are the ones we try to hide
But they always seem to find a way to come out
We try to bury them under layers of lies
But they always manage to surface
They’re like hidden skeletons in our closet
That we wish we could keep hidden forever
But they always manage to rear their ugly heads
And remind us of the dark truths we’ve tried to forget.
